Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP treatment is the primary utilized level of care for our holistic approach to treatment and recovery.

HVRC’s IOP treatment plans include 3 hours of treatment per day, for 3 – 5 days per week, based on clients’ individual needs. IOP combines group connection and support with both individual care and also personalized approaches. Clients participate in a minimum of 3 group sessions per week, SUD group counseling and/or process group therapy. Client’s also meet one-on-one with their licensed therapist weekly. Additionally, mental health treatment and medication management is provided as needed for clients with co-occurring (dual diagnosis) disorders.

Outpatient Recovery Programs (OP)

The HVRC outpatient recovery programs are designed to aid our clients into fully transitioning to complete independence from the outpatient treatment setting. OP treatment generally includes 5-8 hours of treatment per week. Clients’ weekly schedule includes participation in two group sessions, one-on-one counseling, and as needed, therapy and/or mental health counseling sessions to facilitate clients along their treatment and recovery plan. The HVRC outpatient treatment program is often 3 months, or 90 days, in duration depending on each individual client’s needs.

More About HVRC Outpatient Programs

Treatment and recovery is a vital service that can help those struggling with addiction take back control of their life and wellbeing. The HVRC holistic approach to treatment and recovery is implemented in both IOP and OP programs. Treatment services include, but are not limited to, the services described in detail below.

Services

Clients will attend one-on-one recovery sessions with an SUD counselor. Individual counseling session topics and modalities vary depending on each client’s treatment plan objectives. All HVRC counseling services are provided by individuals registered or certified pursuant to California Code of Regulations, Title 9, Division 4, Chapter 8 or by a licensed professional acting within their scope of practice.

Group counseling services follow a model that is molded to fit the individual needs of our Clients. Groups are used as a part of a multiphase process within our comprehensive outpatient recovery programs. Group counseling services combine group goals and individual group member needs while using various methodologies to aid Clients in meeting their personal objectives and ultimately their treatment and recovery goals.

Therapists guide Clients to identifying and processing their underlying pain and problems. HVRC one-on-one therapy sessions offer clients another avenue toward healing from the emotional and mental trauma that emerges along their Recovery journey.

Family members and others that each client has identified as a significant relationship also have the opportunity and sometimes are encouraged to be included in sessions, always in agreement with the client. Family Recovery sessions aid in promoting healthy boundaries, communication, and support.

HVRC develops written treatment plans for all Clients admitted which are as individual as the problems which brought them in to seek treatment. HVRC treatment and recovery plans serve as a roadmap to guide individuals from the assessment process and their suffering, through to successful program discharge and recovery. Using a goal and action-oriented process with measurable criteria created to produce the outcome and results that will solve the problems experienced by the Client, plans are designed to keep both Program Directors and Clients focused on achieving the desired outcomes.

Recovery Planning (also referred to as Aftercare Planning) will follow treatment plans and are designed to prepare clients for the anticipated challenges once discharged from their program. Recovery Plans follow the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) guide to comprehensive recovery planning which allows for individual planning fit for the life and circumstances of each client, setting them up for long-term success and sobriety.

Clients begin working through the 12-steps to addiction recovery under therapeutic supervision. Meanwhile, clients are introduced to local self-help support groups and communities for ongoing support after program discharge.

The HVRC holistic approach to wellness includes physical activities, training, and nutritional guidance to fit the individual goals of each Client. Physical and wellness programs include the following: Hikes, outdoor group fitness, dance & movement groups, Pilates, personal training, and nutrition and diet planning.

Spirit Fulfillment opportunities include services and guidance to guide our Clients to becoming financially self-supporting while fulfilling their passions and using their talents. In Recovery, life has new opportunities and HVRC programs ensure that so long as an individual is willing, they have the tools to realize their full potential.

Clients determined to be in need of care or services outside of what we are able to provide will receive the appropriate referral. For Clients determined to be in need of social service assistance, HVRC case managers provide education, guidance, and aid to receive the services needed. HVRC maintains relationships with locally trusted agencies and facilities that serve as our referrals for those in need of help which we are unable to provide.
